# Log in

> Connect the CLI to your account with a device code, or use an API key in CI.


Sign-in needs the CLI on your machine. If you do not have it yet, follow [Install the CLI](/en/cli/install).

notholy login
```

1. The CLI shows a code and opens `notholy.com/activate`.
2. In the console, confirm the code and pick the organization and workspace.
3. The CLI receives its own key, starting with `nh_cli_`. You can revoke it under **Connections**.

The key is stored in the macOS Keychain, the Linux Secret Service or the Windows Credential Manager. Where no keychain exists, it goes to `~/.notholy/credentials` with permission `600`, and the CLI says so.

In CI, skip the login and set `NOTHOLY_API_KEY`.
