Connect your tools

Choose a client, configure a scoped key and keep working with the same NotHoly account.

Updated November 3, 2026

Choose a client

OpenCode uses Chat Completions. Codex uses Responses. Claude Code speaks Messages but its vendor does not support non-Claude models. Read the client-specific limitations before using a coding agent.

Verify access first

Create a key with models:read, runs:read and runs:write. Query the authenticated model list before generation. A public catalog entry does not grant your account access. A numbered secret variable must be assigned to NOTHOLY_API_KEY explicitly.

Downloads and verification

NotHoly CLI, SDK and VS Code packages are direct versioned downloads. Follow their installation pages and compare SHA-256 checksums. Other clients are installed from their official distributors; NotHoly does not republish them.

Set up credentials and check access

Open a fresh terminal. Paste the command for your shell and enter a scoped key at the hidden prompt. The model-list request does not generate inference. Select an exact returned ID; do not share the key or save it in your repository.

Bash

bash
read -rsp 'NotHoly API key: ' NOTHOLY_API_KEY; printf '\n'
export NOTHOLY_API_KEY
curl --fail-with-body https://api.notholy.com/v1/models \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $NOTHOLY_API_KEY"
read -rp 'Model ID from the returned list: ' NOTHOLY_MODEL
export NOTHOLY_MODEL

PowerShell

powershell
$secret = Read-Host 'NotHoly API key' -AsSecureString
$env:NOTHOLY_API_KEY = [System.Net.NetworkCredential]::new('', $secret).Password
Remove-Variable secret
Invoke-RestMethod -Uri 'https://api.notholy.com/v1/models' -Headers @{ Authorization = "Bearer $env:NOTHOLY_API_KEY" } | Select-Object -ExpandProperty data | Select-Object id
$env:NOTHOLY_MODEL = Read-Host 'Model ID from the returned list'

Expected: HTTP 200 and a data array of permitted model IDs. A 401 means authentication failed; a 403 means your account or scopes do not allow the operation. Sending a prompt after setup consumes account credits.
